Fantastic weekend in Kerry. The skies on Friday night had to be seen to be believed. Unfortunately it was cloudy on the Saturday night, but the crack was mighty all the same.
Many Thanks to Roy for all his hard work in organising the whole thing, and for being the life and soul of the weekend. Many Thanks also to Kevin and Liz for the superb barbie, and to Stephen from KTec Telescopes for providing the prizes for the quiz (NeilP and Neill McK were both on the winning team)
Many Thanks to Frida for putting up with us all, the hostel accommodation was first class, and great value.
Many Thanks also to John for sharing his Captain Morgan rum, very tasty and much appreciated
Great to see some old friends down for the weekend, and to make many new ones.
And finally, many Thanks to Geraldine, Colette, Jonathan, Neil and Neill for making the long trip down, and providing great memories.
We are hoping to make this an annual event, around about this time every year. Don't miss it.

What a fantastic weekend the skies were amazing i have never seen so many stars before. First time i have seen the whole of Sagittarius as well as a great deal of Scorpio.
It was a night of many first for me i have never ever seen the full constellation of Orion so early on in the year as well as M45. The swan nebula through Stevie's scope was fantastic. The milky way stretched completely overhead and the great rift was clearly visible with the naked eye.
The night also ended on the high as the conjunction of Jupiter, the Moon and Venus came into view.
Well done to Roy and all those who helped to organize the gathering.! It was well worth the trip
Brilliant skies and Brilliant craic definitely in for next year!!!
