Friday 28th and Saturday 29th October could be possible dates, depends on what other events are on - ie. haloween etc.

Folks, All should be aware that the EAAS does not at this stage, have any Public Liability Insurance for public events. Until insurance is organised, then I would suggest that it's entirely up to individuals, if they want to get together for observing sessions. They cannot use the EAAS as the organising group at this stage, for obvious reasons, eg accidents etc. Sorry to be a spoil sport. Pook

It seems that on 29th October there are a lot of halloween events so the week after will be the best time for any observing session. I'm also moving house that weekend so it's out fo rme anyway.
The 4th/5th will be a good date for observing. Aaron, any more word on this?

Pook's point about public liability might affect the NT allowing access to the grounds - might be better off sticking to the carpark if its publicly accessible.

I went round to see them today but Barbara was not there. So i'll try tomorrow.
Who does the liability lie with if it is a NT event with them publicising it? Surely then it would come under NT insurance??

I had this problem a couple of years ago when organizing our Astro-Day at Ballyrobert. With so many kids etc about, I was told both by the school and the Education Authority that so long as it was on "school property" we were covered. I don't know if the same applies to Castleward.

Cheers John. I'm sure the same applies for castleward but i'll check nevertheless.
