Hey everyone
I had a word with Barbara yesterday and she thinks it's a fantastic idea to hold the Mars close approach event in Castleward on the 4/5th of November. ;D ;D That weekend also sees the book fair taking place so Barbara would like to publicise it along with the fair. (Ive been to the book fair for the past number of years and they always get a good turn out).
The query about insurance was raised at a National Trust meeting in castleward this morning and we dont need to worry as the NT cover it. Everyone at the property also seems to be looking forward to the event as were a some of people I was talking to yesterday.
I explained we could set up about 7 - 7.30 (how does that sounds people?) round at the templewater and if its clear would be there well into the night. In the event that its cloudy, we have the use of the old cornmill in the farmyard, I was thinking we could set up a couple of scopes for people to see, maybe get the blue image wall out to show some of our images.
How does this all sound to everyone?

Great work Aaron
I wonder is there a map of the grounds available or could you scan it and email it over. I'd like to get a feel for the whole layout and maybe do a bit of scouting some evening to check out access etc.
If Barbara needs to contact me, you have my phone and email info.
Looking forward to it
Mark

There should be a map available somewhere. There is one at the bottom of our driveway but im not too sure how a pic of that would turn out. The trust have info palmphets of castleward, i'll try and get hold of one this week.
Sure some night your free come down and we'll have a scout about.
Sorry I forgot to mention, Barbara wants a synopsis of what we'll be doing (reason for event, other celestial objects on display etc), that she can include in the flyer/release alongside the book fair.

Hi guys,
What is the quickest way down to Castleward from Belfast - A7 to Downpatrick then cut across towards Strangford or A22 through Comber and Lisbane then cut across towards Strangford?
Thanks
Neill

Depends where in belfast your coming from. If south belfast head for saintfield and cut across for strangford at downpatrick. North or east belfast probably head for comber and cut across at downpatrick. But there isnt really much difference which way you go.
