Good luck with that Kevin! Its clouded over here with drizzle but i seen Mars through the clouds. I am expecting it to clear soon. Possiblity of Aurora activity this evening so everybody keep an eye on the north of its clear!!! Also keep an eye out for further Taurid fireball activity..there have been lots of reports over the world of observers seeing fireballs as bright as the full moon, many of these events have caused false UFO reports in Germany. Last night i heard people ringing in to 'talksport' reporting bright meteors' so there is plenty of action in the sky now. Also look for the Gegenschein beside Mars...good luck all and clear skies!

Just back from the Mars Watch, and what a cracker night it turned out to be down there considering it was raining in Belfast !! After a cloudy start, the sky came alive and is the clearest , darkest, sky i have *ever* seen !! Check out this 13 second exposure of the milky way ( f1.4/50mm ISO1600) Fantastic place, and mars was shining bright. Surprise..... is that a galaxy in the right side 2/3 down?
