Looks clear at the minute here, with Venus shining really brightly, but unfortunately Metcheck predicts 90% cloud by 9pm. Last night was really clear.... i was up about 6am this morning on my way to work and wished i'd got up 2 hours earlier ... ah well... i hope they are wrong about tonight.

Was clear here for maybe 20 mins or more but those clouds moved in and it is overcast as i write this. I got some observing done but the sky was in poor condition with murk and trans ranging from 0 to 5 at best. temp is dropping though.
Conor i will definitely be keeping my eye out for aurora activity, those charts do indeed look good.

Yea alothough the desnity is Averaging 15 is IMF is just not tilting south to boost the Aurora. Also the windspeed is starting to climb to a respectable rate!

Conor and i had a good short session this evening and the sky wasnt even dark yet lol. We observed the crescent phase of Venus through the 8" at 49X and watched as it set below a distant dark roof top in the FOV, suddenly as it vanished we were amazed to see a brillant silver Venus pillar..wow that was a suprise, i have never seen one of those before! Heres 2 shots of Mars i took in the very bright evening twilight with my new camera. The images are completely overexpsoed but i guess it will take a little practise to get the hang of the settings on this camera, thought i would throw them up anway... The last shot is of the eastern sky below Casiopeia taken as the sky was really degrading in quality with very dense mist moving in. I just took this 15 sec exposure as a test. Unfortunately i did not pick up the fuzzy nature of M31 though i did pick up its nucleus. Clear skies

Yea Conor that was ISO1600 and a little processing. The conds were poor at the time so i am hoping that future images under a clean sky may be a bit better...thanks. I guess i will have to play with the manual settings more to figure out what i can squeeze from this camera.
Your Venus shots are great. I love the reflection of Mars in the puddle!

Martin i know this may look over processed but this is the best i can do to bring out detail! Not bad forgetting noise from orange light. Getting the hang of this software
