Great, just great and here is me online in the morning just to check the weather in the hope that there would be a clear and calm night this weekend and next week. I knew it would be hopeless *sigh*

Tonight there is to be 60kt sustained wind off the SW of Ireland so gusts are anyone's guess. Here's the next 3 days in detail - Tuesday evening looks to be the worst. By markdj

anyone brave enough for killylane for a storm watch! Jonathan, are you mad? The dog's kennel was half way down the garden this moring and believe me, it's a flipping big kennel. My garden seat was upside down and my huge gate has blown off...... actually, that all sounds a bit like poltergeist activity, bleedin spirits .....

The forest I live beside sheilded me from most of the strong winds so my night was uneventful. I got a good night of sleep, though I'd say a few trees have blown down which is always a shame.

I've a huge tree right beside my house; when it's windy, I never get a good night's sleep ...... going by my track record, it'll end up inside the house ....

mia what you need is a chainsaw with the added benefit of a free energy source! We used to do that Jonathan when we'd the coal fire! Everytime a tree near us fell in a storm the Hanna family moved en masse with chainsaws and wheelbarrows. We once cleared a huge tree in 4 hours, by the time the farmer came looking for the tree, it was burning nicely on our fire and lasted us for months! Don't be ringing 'Crimestoppers' now, will yaz?

Jonathan, how could you!!! (Sorry, I'm a bit of a tree-lover). Mind, there's nowt wrong with chopping up dead 'uns and shoving 'em on t'fire. Many's a Guinness/whisky-fuelled night spent in our caving cottage...where we trailed whole bushes and large trunks in through the house and slaughtered them on the living room floor. (It was thankfully an indestructible cottage. Still is . The ancient chimney even survived the rockets (fireworks) shoved on the fire.) Don't be ringing Helath & Safety Executive now, will yaz?

That's the closest you've ever come to offering to buy a drink, Jonathan!
