Yeah, it's a great program and one that I use to control the Meade LX200 as the interface is very streamlined and works great.

Thanks for the link, Kryss - you've also just reminded me that I want a planisphere like the one Andy McCrea was waving about on Monday night!

Try WH Smith or Easons in Belfast for the planisphere.

Ah Stevie, thank you! Had no idea I could get them in standard bookstores.

Also Waterstones generally have the Phillips one, it is about the only store I have found with an actual astronomy section.

Yes, their Astronomy section's pretty good, I've bought several books there this past while.

Bought a few astronomy books myself there and I think I remember seeing the Phillips p'sphere there. I want to compare a few of them first before buying one.

Sorry Veronica,
Box has been rented to a lovely family with two kids and a dog. Still have to plant out the garden for them though.

Welcome aboard Mark. I've heard good things about Stellarium but never tried it. I am so used to Cartes Du Ciel I can't get my head around learning another package. Where you are I guess your best skies are to the south. I used to live in Newtownbreda and cursed my skies every clear night.

Just downloaded Stellarium, and checking it out now, Mark. Quite a good basic program, without a lot of the confusing add-ons that sometimes overload beginners in other programs. By the way, welcome to the EAAS Forum.
