Hi there,
Got mine too! ;D
I have it assembled but as I was working last night and didn't get much sleep I was Knackered and didn't get over to collect it from the in-law's, until tonight. Orion was smiling at me but it was too tired and then cloud and wind was up saving me the struggle of to sleep or not to sleep!
It'll be nice to get out with it. Hope your pleased with yours Tim.

Well I tried to collimate my Dob and failed drastically and embarrassingly, right Eamonn? Needless to say I was feeling slightly down hearted after trying to undo the damage but took it outside anyway to see how much I had messed up the optics. I turned it to a bright star, Procyon, didn't look too bad, pretty sharp. Hard to tell I have no standards to judge by yet. Then bounced my way to Regulus so I could roughly find Saturn and focused in with the 10mm eyepiece. Totally blew me away! I could make out a perfect disc with a sharp ring around it! Couldn't make out much colour but it was amazing considering the scope still needs collimated, I was very impressed. The clouds quickly rolled over cutting my test short. Brian I am definitely pleased with the scope, its just my ability with it isn't up to scratch heh heh. Your 10" must be awesome. I'll have to pm you my number if you want to meet up some clear night, and anyone else willing to brave the cold. Eamonn if it is alright I will probably phone you soon and try to organize a convenient time I could stop by if it isn't too much trouble. I would really appreciate it! Or anyone else in the Belfast area with some free time and practice at collimating. Tim

Tim, I would certainly collimate the scope for you if Eamonn is unavailable. Mind you, he's much better than me at doing it, but I could get you going ok. I'll pm you my number. It's 3.15am , and the sky is very clear and dark, I'm away out to try and find M100.

Congrats Tim, I am a dob owner myself and know the joy of first light with a new scope. However, be aware that you have by your purchase condemned us to a phenomenon commonly referred to as "new scope Weather".......means when someone buys new kit, it will rain for a month Declan

At least we bought new scopes together so the weather will be really bad but only shorter than ... twice as long... Not gr8 reasoning. Sorry!
