Morning,
Around midnight last night I took a look outside and was surprised to see how bright it was. It looked like the middle of the afternoon. The sky was a very bright, light grey.
I know this has something to do with the snow reflecting light, etc But is there a name for this? Also I thought it was to do with the moons light being reflected but there was no moon that I could see last night.

i know that from space the reflecting of light from the snow is called the albido affect, but i dont know if the same term applies for on the ground

Not sure what it could have been but I can assure you that the moon was out last night. It's full moon tonight so the moon light would have had a lot to do with the effect. I wasn't outside last night so I missed this.

Yes, weirdly bright! Like the thick layer of cloud was reflecting back light pollution combined with a bright moon.
