Hi all,
Was driving from B'Mena to Antrim today at 1.30pm. The winter sun in the west, was set in a hazy atmosphere. There was also some thin streaky sparse cloud. There suddenly appeared on either side of the Sun two majestic rainbow pillars. They just hung in the sky and had no circular shape as in an ordinary rainbow. They didn't come from the horizon but just looked like two multicoloured contrails. What was even more spectacular was that the left pillar was casting its colour into part of the wispy cloud which gave it the appearance of a Hubble nebulae shot. It was a picture no artist could paint. In Newtownabbey about twenty minutes later the left pillar was still on display. I also paid attention to the road.....................!
