I was out yesterday enjoying the storms and was very luck to have my camera going when the birth of a double rainbow began and just as it got at its brightest I was gifted by several forks of lightning around the bow. Here is a link to the video.
It was a very enjoyable storm, I got myself positioned between three active cells so there was lightning all around me. I spent three hours at this spot.

Very brave of you old boy, I would have been away like the clappers after the first bolt.

It's never too close for me Steive, I can't get enough of it. The only time I felt uneasy was being in a very intense storm in America.

Brilliant photos Simon i love thunder and lighting think its a wonderful natural phenomenon. The louder and brighter the better for me. One of the best storms i have ever encountered was in Tullagh bay in Donegal at the top of a mountain it was wonderful.
Glad you enjoyed it
