Hi, I got my first telescope yesterday, a Skywatcher 130 with motordrive, £109 on Amizon. I had been looking at a Skywatcher 200p with EQ5 GOTO mount but at over £700 I decided to go for the smaller unit to get me started as it seems reasonably portable.
The scope came in quite a large box and as usual I did not bother with the assembly instructions but is seems, now I have assembled it, to be working properly. At midnight last night I pointed it a Saturn (thanks to Stellarium) and got some great views of the rings even with the 10mm eyepiece and x2 Barlow that came with it. Next time I am going to attempt to polar align the scope and let the motor do the tracking, the u-tube videos are not all that clear, but hopefully I will get it set up properly.
Looking forward to joining the Ballyclare club in September.
Edit, Just uploaded my Avatar of the Moon taken in Cyprus in 2009 using a Canon SX10 and the x20 zoom lens that comes with it.
