Hi all. First time poster here. I've just ordered my first telescope and I'm thinking about doing a bit of wild camping, fairly new to all of this so any advice at all would be much appreciated. I've been thinking somewhere in the nw coast up by malin head but as I say any advice at would be great! Thanks TheDude.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I'm sure there are plenty of places you could go camping up that way, but maybe not at this time of the year. The weather hasn't been great lately, with almost constant cloud for weeks now, and no sign of an improvement in the near future. This has been the worst autumn season we have had for years.
The usual big advantage of this time of year is that it gets dark so early, so you can get a good long session and still be in bed at a reasonable hour. But not this year so far.
But keep your eye on the forum for any observing sessions coming up, although they are usually planned at very short notice.
Good luck
