Hi all, I am a new member to NIAAS and great to see local interest in astronomy is healthy.
I got the bug when I took my son to the Stargazing event at the folk & transport last week when I looked through my first ever telescope. Jupitor (& the moons) were outstanding. Im still in shock actually. I will soon buy myself a telescope as soon as I figure out where to store and save up some cash.
I've always had a interest and a few years ago bought a pair of 10x50 binoculars. Spent a lots of hours studying the Moon and now look to gaze at the rest of the planets (cant wate to see Saturn) and beyond.
Thanks Stephen for taking me through the beginers telescops pro's & cons, great tips.
I look farward in meeting you all soon, maybe next observation.
Take care Dan

Hi Dan, welcome to the forum. It was a pleasure to chat to you the other day. Had any more thoughts about what we discussed?

Cheers for the warm welcome guys. I'm waiting for payday Stevie I've seen a lot of nice scopes on that FLO site you recommended. Just noticed your selling 8" skywatcher with no mount. Might have a look at it before ordering a new one. I'll have a chat with you near the end of the month if its still available. Anyhoo, any observations happening soon? clear skies the last few nights. I'll keep checking the forum.

The 8" dob is fantastic, great to get to grips with collimating and gives such great views. Unless of course you can stretch to get the 10" Few years on and I still have it, might look to get the 10" soon though. Tim
