93% illuminated moon is 7o to the east of Mars in the evening and extremely close to the Pleidas star cluster.
Thursday 20th
Bright moon passes through the southern regions of the Pleides star cluser in the early hours of the morning. Orionoids meteor shower reaches maximum with a ZHR of 25. The moon will interfere.
Sunday 23rd
Grazing occultation of star ZC1022 (mag +5. by the moon at 03:09.37 UT. The centre line of the track passes through south wales and the midlands. Leaving the UK's skies via the suffolk coast. The apparent diameter os mars reaces apparition maximum at 20 arcseconds. It remains at this size until 5 November.
