Count me in. Do you want to meet up in Dromara? Say around 7:30pm outside the police station?

... once again i have to ask... Is this observing session purely for 'EAAS members', or can anyone come up? What time will you be there from and importantly , To ??

Sorry I won't be on this one chaps, I'm learning to drive a Land Rover today and won't be back until late. I hope to get some observing done from home later - I think it's time to get the webcam on Mars!
Clear Skies,
Paul.

Markk, anyone can come who has a telescope, this is not an official EAAS event. We are meeting at Dromara PSNI for around 7:30pm. You can come and go when you like.

'now then, now then' Murder mystery went well last night, no surprises I didnt win any prizes. Sherlock Hunter will be retiring from the murder game for another year.

Thanks. I doubt I will be able to make it that early though, so I was thinking of heading down after 11. Will you guys be staying late/into the morning? Also, just to confirm where this car park is; from Ballynahinch, take the road to Dromora, down past Finnis and turn left to end up on the south side of Slieve Croob? ( there is a P and a Viewpoint symbol on the map)

We will probably stay pretty late the last session ended at 4am and then only because of a dew problem

Well guys, what can I say? We have a good evening talking and doing some casual observing but the clouds got the better of us. Looking at the forecasts, they were all good, bbc, metcheck and the GFS cloud cover all showed clear but the misty fog just kept getting thicker. Maybe next time, now that we all have travelled the back roads of Dromara extensively we should meet up there again soon. Clear Skies

Sorry to hear that guys!! I must say I went out to see if it was worth taking the scope out and I didn't see anything... not one star!! I was wondering if you all had it clear further down south!!! Maybe next time!!!

Well, we packed up the car here around 10pm, Moon was still out but there was a little mist around which i thought would clear as we headed up Slieve Croob...... alas... you could not see 10 feet in front of you at the meeting point. Obviously no-one was there when we arrived around 10:45pm, and even if there was someone still there , you would have needed an infra red camera to see them !!! What a washout !! Can i make a suggestion?......... Can we pool a list of Mobile Phone numbers so we can text each other for up to the minute reports when we go on observing sessions like this, as it may save a trip in future, not so bad as it was only down the road for me, but for people travelling further afield it would be a bonus. (Obviously the list of numbers would be distrubited by private emails and not through a public forum) clear skies ....( just not tonight !! )
