Hate to say this guys but ive been clear all night down strangford way, well there has been some high cloud but the stars are out, (what there can be seen for the moon), the moon is hanging over the back trees and Mars is shining.

Yes, it was fogged out here in Larne too. I could see the Moon, Mars and the three stars of the Summer Triangle, Vega, Deneb and Altair. And that was it in the whole sky!

Martin the pics came out really well, pity the weather didn't not so much an observing session as four guys standing in a fog wondering what the guy in the other car was doing. Apologies to anyone who came after we left, we do need some way to notify others if the session gets cancelled. Rgds Neil

Hi guys,
Weather was very poor, but it was good fun and we had a good chat - think the guy in the other car was reading!! Obviously likes his peace and quiet. Its a great site when clear, but the way it was on Sat night - would have been a great set for a bad horror film!! - very misty Agree about the point with the mobile numbers - would make keeping in touch easier. Hopefully next time we can get some observing done

Lets hope we get clear skies down at Strangford for the Mars nights - don't think the Moon will be much of a hinderance for those nights? Thats right is it not?

The weather this week looks unpromising - lots of cloud and showers - hopefully they have got it wrong just like they did on sat night
