I watched it hit the sun I reported it last night but have heard nothing yet. Some Japanese guy probably seen it first but at least i was one of the first. I will be studying these images more closely for now on. This is the 4th time i have found a comet on the C3 Coronagraph. Its a good project to do on a cloudy night and by conicidence i mentioned SOHO comet hunting in my latest article which was nice timing

If I manually use the slider to move the frames I can see it right the way out to the edge of the frame but there is so much other junk it is very difficult to ditinguish apart from those tell tale signs you talked about in your comet hunting article of course. It's learning to distinguish those that will make the difference between doscovering one and not.
Is there any more information available about this comet you reported? I may try to put together a comet hunting observing page on the EAAS site with animation capability - I'll look into it.
