Well caught, Conor! I was expecting something like that to develope yesterday - saw a lovely (weird as ever) cumulus with mammatus underneath, just outside work yesterday afternoon. I would have been thought of as way too weird if I'd run back to the office for my camera!

Well, seeing as there's not much astronomy going on, but plenty of weather, here's a few snaps I took on the 11 May from the back door...I've played with them in Adobe Paintshop, just to bring the detail of the rays and clouds out. Ahem. Nothing too eciting... just some rays and some mammatus that developed before the rain came on.

Cheers, Conor! I'll never forget the first time I saw mammatus - last October, driving through Gort - really ugly big hanging mammatus, totally impressive and a bit scary, right under the tip of the anvil of the most amazing thunderstorm I had the privelege to be under. Fork lightning, mini tornadoes, the works!!!

Great images of crepuscular rays Veronica, number 2 is my favourite! Mammatus clouds are really strange indeed and so photogenic
