Hi all I was lucky enough to see my 13th Noctilucent cloud display of the season last night from 01.25 - 03.30 BST It was 7* high and + 60* in azimuth with 'herring bone' and 'net like' structure with stunning vivid colours. Visually i could see gold, orange, white, blue, green colours and a deep crimson band at the base of the display along the horizon even though it was the middle of the night. beautiful sight! All images ISO200/8 sec exp.. More here... i3.tinypic.com/15x8mc3.jpgi4.tinypic.com/15x8rvr.jpgi3.tinypic.com/15x8s52.jpg

Very nice Martin - I missed that one - there was only a narrow band of clarity when I went to bed (see Moon shot) and it was light when I woke up early and photographed the pre-dawn pillar.

Thanks very much everyone. It wasnt very high in the sky but it was a beauty all the same. I have a feeling there will be a big one any night now so keep watch.

Unfortunately I didn't get this one either. Thanks for the text Martin, though I was "dead to the world" by that time, must get a bigger bell!

Great images Martin.
Herring bone detail is excellent. I'm back for a week so tryin gto get caught up on events. Please do try to cut down on the images that are directly posted to the messages as tinypic servers are straining under the heavy use and dial-up users can't see the images as they are slow to load. Please try to keep only a couple of your best (different) but feel free to link to more. Be considerate of low bandwidth users - thanks.
