Hey Aaron thanks very much. Its display number 22 of the season. Last year i only seen 12 NLC displays however we have been having so many clear nights this summer compared to last years clouds. I like your avatar data

Lovely set of images Martin. I haven't managed to see any great displays while I was away but I did manage to capture the green flash !

Great images Martin, sadly I only got a few views in gaps in the cloud. No problem about the text as I was working late on an article, and always check the sky before I retire anyway.

Thanks very much Mark, i hope you get to see one soon. The green flash sounds great, something which i have never seen before. Maybe you could share your image with us in the near future? John i much appreciated that text message, if theres anything happening in the sky which i missed then i would sure like to know about it so thanks again. Another beautiful cleat night from here again, going out now to see whats happening. All best

Martin, lovely images again! I had cloud again before beddie-byes on Saturday night, so, while I'm envious that you saw yet another display, I'm glad that you were able to record it and share it with the rest of us.
I had clear skies before midnight last night, with a good horizon, but no sign of NLC. Perhaps there may have been a veil type display, but the lights from good old Belfast might have put paid to that!

Thanks very much for the encouraging words Veronica. Funny you should mention it as there was a veil type display visible last night only 7* above the NW horizon. It was so faint (type 1) and barely visible against the background twilight that i did not take an image as the camera most likely would not have picked it up.
Beautiful clear night though all the same.

No probs, Martin...Seems to be some decent evening/night time weather on the way after tonight. I'm off camping at a beach outside Sligo for a few nights, so the camera and perhaps the scope shall be put to good use, hopefully! Nice Atlantic sunsets and NLC spring to mind., just hope I'm not too far South for NLC!
