Went down to Carnfunnock this evening - no aurora and very hazy skies so I thought I'd make the most of it and wait for the Moon to slowly rise! Here's the bottom part of Auriga with M36,37 and 38 clearly visible and the start of the Moon Pillar Then a little later And later still with Castor rising to the left Ailsa Craig is visible on the horizon. Clear skies, Paul.

Very nice image Paul, you got in nice and close there! the 3 clusters are very distinct! - and a faint moon pillar to top it all off.

Gorgeous! Isn't it amazing how much the clouded out moon still manages to brighten the sky?
