Oh my James! That's brilliant! I've had various members (Neill & Mark) explain what NLC's were and your image is the first I've seen which clearly shows the ribbons of cloud! I didn't believe them when they said it wasn't sunrise/set or LP!!
I can't wait to see this for myself!!

Great Image james, the structure is very noticable. Get your sighting over to the NLCnet observers site www.kersland.plus.com/.

James!! Excellent!! That is the best image I've seen of NLCs from ireland so far this year too! The form of the cloud is so distinct and obvious. Hope you've reported them and added your images to NLCnet, like Aaron said! Nice one, James! www.nlcnet.co.uk/

I had a relatively clear sky last night to the north and checking before bedtime (a really decadent 11pm!) didn't give me any hope of NLC. Shame. At least we have a few more clear nights to look forward to...

i took this at 01.06BST this morning. 40 seconds at iso 100. this is my second observation of NLC's so far this season. some fine detailed structure can be seen in this image. some fog hampered the view shortly after i took this

Oh burger. I had a look last night at 10.45 and thought that behind the orangey foggy stuff that some veil type NLC was there but wasn't sure. Your image would appear to confirm my suspicions! However, bed called...there's always tonight.....at least I can take it easy in work tomorrow!
