I took my old golfing umbrella with me to work this morning, et voila! sunshine at lunchtime. An old brolly never lets you down.

Stevie, leave the brolly at home today. I work at the Gasworks, right overlooking the Lagan and it's been drained so that only a trickle runs down the middle to make room for the anticipated deluge and it REEKS....all the sludge on the riverbed is exposed and it is well mingin', man.
Therefore, if you leave said brolly at home, it is bound to bucket and therefore provide my olfactory organ with some much-needed relief. Pooooh!

Looks like it hit England hard as forecast, floods and all over the pond.

Friday (today) from 3-6pm looks exciting www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/stormwatch.aspCAPE values above 350 usually mean a decent thunderstorm. The forecast is for 567j/kg Also, unstable atmosphere forecast with lifted index of -3 If there isn't any thunder then I would be expecting very dynamic conditions, spouts, highly structured clouds. I wonder what UKWW are saying?

They're a bit quiet at the mo. Someone has suggested that there's a risk of thunderstorms over us but someone else says not so confident. Typical forecasting, eh?
In any case, I'll be watching and waiting!

Just a couple of light showers, seems the thunder hit the Isle of Man and north of England, ah well. The clouds were still pretty groovy here though.

Mark, do me a big favour mate, keep forecasting bad weather. I've just finished a couple of hours observing. Quite a few clouds around, but nice prolonged clear patches as well. Used the 8" dob, with the 28mm and 20mm 2" ep's. Saw usual suspects mainly, M57,81,82, few doubles and some lovely views in Cygnus. Long day on saturday (filling a skip, all help gratefully appreciated) so that's enough of that for one night. Nice to get out again.

No prob, Stevie, I was out briefly myself as generally clear spells follow all weather fronts.
