Hi Ian
I do not know much about this scope however I did read a review in one of the astro mags (S&T I think) and it got alot of praise. It looks like a superb instrument to me!
I might get one myself sometime. I believe Eamonn here is getting one?

Good luck! When you get it, try pointing it in the direction of 47 Tucanae which is a Globular Cluster close to the Small Magellanic Cloud. It is an awesome sight through a scope of that size. I saw it through a 15" Dob in South Australia in 2002 which in a roundabout way has a lot to do with why I'm involved with this society!

The 12" Lightbridge is supposed to be a great scope, pretty light and very portable while giving really good light gather, hope you have many great nights with it.

I was able to view the Meade Lightbridge 1 inch a few days ago and it looks like an excellent scope. Very well put together, beautiful smooth motion - I think it has a ball bearing track with some nice features like adjusting the tension of Altitude for heavier eyepieces, the ability to lock position, a wonderful crayford focuser and very easily put together. The one I saw had Bob's Knobs for easy collimating. I was very impressed with it.
Be sure that the Antares has similar features and quality as I haven't seen any details on it and the Meade is very much worth the money.
