I was out with my 105 and I tried using the guided tour function in the autostar but I got a flash memory error,I have had this error on a few nights so its not a one off.
I was wondering if anyone had any idea what that message is about? I didnt get a CD with the scope so I rang the guy that I bought it off and he doesnt have a disc either.
I have checked through all the paperwork and there is no mention of this problem that Im having.
I guess I may have to update the autostar from the Meade site,if thats the case apart from not having the correct cable it should be a pretty straightforward process I would assume.Has anyone ever updated their Autostar any advice would be much appreciated.

Dave, as I said, I don't use my autostar, Phil may be able to help you here, I'll post this on Astrochat as well and hopefully we can sort you out. BTW, here's the link to Mike Weasner's ETX site, it's pulled me out of a hole many a time. Neil had a look through to see if he could find anything to help you but no luck. www.weasner.com/etx/menu.html

Dave, Copied and pasted courtesy of James over on Astrochat. He also posts on here (jamesastro) so you can plague him relentlessly and give him lots of abuse if it doesn't work! --- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Same thing happened to one I had ETX 105 and it is a common error by all accounts. Update the Autostar to V4 (Latest), whilst updating make sure the power to the handset is not going to break because if it does ya hand control is heading for the Bin, so if using batteries use fully charged ones! Hope that helps James

Thanks Mia.
I will give updating it to V4 a go and see if that cures it.
Have to get my hands on a cable for the update first, but I have seen them on Ebay for under a tenner.

I have updated mine a couple of times now... be warned it takes quite a long time to do. Hence the fresh batteries!
