Hi John, and welcome to the forum. The next meeting is indeed on Monday 7th January in Ballyclare High School, it is a member's night but get yourself along and make yourself known, we'll be glad to see you. Club members will be giving short talks on various aspects of astronomy, with a particular emphasis on equipment and how to use it. Don't be shy about asking questions either during the talks or afterwards. Killylane reservoir is on the Larne - Ballymena road (the A36 I think) near Shane's Hill. Unfortunately we haven't been able to get out much recently due to the poor weather conditions, but observing sessions are usually announced on this website, although often at very short notice. Come along on the 7th and find out more.

Welcome to the forums john. This lot are really helpful!!! They've encouraged me a lot with what Astronomy is about. I might make it up to Ballyclare on the 7th but I'm reliant on my parents to get there so there are no guarantees!!!
Good luck with your new scope!!!

Hi John and welcome! As Stevie says, try and come along on the 7th - there'll be plenty of us asking questions and it won't just be the new faces like yourself

Hi John, rather than waste your time emailing me, if you're at the 7 January meeting, I'll see you then. I'll be the scary monster at the door with the dirty laugh! Sorry, I meant I'll be the gorgeous creature with the superior knowledge of astronomy.... you know I taught these guys everything they know (except Stevie!)

Welcome, John. Look forward to meeting you. We've had quite a few new members this past while, and all we need is some weather to give us a chance to get out. It's been an awful year, really.
