Well spotted Mr Rooney. I haven't seen a sundog for real for quite a while. Obviously you and Mia live in the right part of the country for excellent sunsets!

Well I got another one on Friday night and managed to alert Mia who also got to see it. Not as bright as the first one though but there was fainter arcs to the east and above the sun aswell.

Michelle was intrigued to say the least (she kept trying to look for it whilst driving, not advisable!!) but I did bore her stupid for 10 minutes trying to explain what they were.

Lucky people! There's not been many treats up my way...and now that I've remembered that I could spend some time observing sunspots, I find that there's not even any of them to look at, and if there were, t he forecast is now cr*p for the foreseeable.
