Hi all I’m back looking for more tips. Having type of shorted out my focal problem with my webcam and telescope, I’ve moved on to stacking images. If any one can help with how to eliminate the blur it would be vary useful. Some of the software I have used is RegiStax and Photoshop none of which can give me an image I’m happy with. Help from any one or every one would be greatly appreciated. Cheers doitalldave

After running registax, use the wavelets processing and that should bring up the sharpness.
Before running the stacking process make sure that there are no bumps or wind shaken frames which can sometimes be included in the stacking process depending on the quality settings.
Another thing to do and probably better to post here is the specs of your imaging system. i.e. camera, telescope focal length and focal ratio. Hopefully we can then find out the specs of your imaging sensor from which you can work out if you are oversampling enough. Nequist's theorm (I think that's the guy - I'm a abit rusty in the imaging department) states that you will need at least twice the resolution to display a point source of light so for every tiny star, you need the light to fall on at least 2 pixels. But if the light falls on a whole load of pixels the image will need resized to bring back the sharpness.
Of course the above is dependant on seeing conditions and if the atmosphere is unsettled the image will be lacking in detail.
Hope Kieran can fill in any blanks I've left out :-)
