Yip! It arrived in our parts. It's amazing the difference 80m will make. I live about 118m and we had probably 4in of snow lying on pavements and roads. great craic. Had to dig the car back into the estate!
Anyway my question, which has been sparked by a look outside, is
Does snow reflect light back at sky further reducing the magnitude possible?
I know the moon is washing out the sky but it does seem worse.

The snow will act like a mirror and reflect some of the moonlight back up thus adding to the sky brightness. Nice moon halo here earlier though.

The moon halo was HUGE!!
It's one of the biggest I've seen. Capella, Pollux and Betelgeuse were well inside it.

I think there was a lot of moisture in the air too, transmitting moonglow even further across the sky. I'd a good look whilst outside until 1am trying to fix the central heating, which in typical fashion, has broken down at the coldest time of the year.
