Hi Everyone
I am looking for a scope and if anyone ( in Ireland ) or wherever has a 6/8 inch reflector second hand that has been cared for and in good nick , i would be interested .
I am very close to buying an Skywatcher Explorer 150 , I was wondering if anyone could give me some info please as regards how good , how bad it may be , i want to do Deep Sky Stuff and Planetary too , so would like a good mix scope , if such a beast exists
I said i would try the wanted section here as im about to order from the UK in the next day or two ,
I would be very grateful for any views please Thank you in advance

Hi Martin The telescope you mention is a very popular model, if you decide to go for it, make sure you get a "P" or "PL" model, they have a better mirror. The eyepieces supplied are not of the best quality, but you can upgrade later. The finder is also rather poor, but most finders supplied with that type of telescope are. Consider buying a red dot finder. Try to get an 8inch (200P) if you can afford it, the views, especially of deep sky objects, will be much better. Have you considered a dobsonian like this? www.warehouseexpress.com/product/default.aspx?sku=10565A dobsonian is easier to put together, easier to handle and easier to use than a scope on a mount. Whatever you decide to do, shop around for the best price, as this can vary considerably. Best of luck.

Hiya Stevie , How are you doing? hope your well ? Thank you Stevie for taking the time to post your comments for me , i really appreciate the info Stevie. I have really looked and looked Stevie , the price i have on the SKYWATCHER 150MM P is the best in europe .
Everyones advising me to go for the 200mm version , but i have to try and stick to a budget , otherwise , il go from wanting a 6 inch to buying the dish at Arecibo Observatory puerto rico lol
Dont really want a Dob tho` , prefer something on a mount . most of my viewing will be done from backyard and i have walls all round , so i like the mount system , ,
yea , Astronomy is really about size lol , you always want bigger Stevie,
Listen , THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP
Great hearing from you
take care
kind regards Martin Cork Ireland

Just to let everyone know i have found my scope , I am driving to Dublin tomorrow Monday to collect a Celestron C8-N
So , I am looking for some eyepieces that would suit a Celestron C8-N .
Maybe the Celestron Eyepiece kit or something , i have been told the C8-N can use either 1 + 1/4 inch, or 2 inch eyepieces as the scope comes with an adapter so that you could use the 2 inch eyepieces too.
Thank you for reading
