As a stepping stone to cutting down on the amount of gear I have and upgrading I have the following up for grabs. Skywatcher 120 f8.3 refractor with 2" diagonal, tube rings and dovetail. This is the older blue OTA and has a focal length of 1000mm which is just to big for my mount. Looking 80 quid for it. No finder with this. Helios ST80 f5 with 1.25" diagonal, tube rings,dovetail,2 eyepieces .. 40 quid for this one. Willing to let both go at once for 100 just for quick sale. Both are a bit dusty through lack of recent usage but optically fine.

Still have the big scope above for sale and will take 50 quid for it as I just want to reclaim the room it takes up.
I'll even throw in a small cheap finderscope.... if I can find it.

Hi,
I would be interested in the scope if you think it would be usable with my current mount. I have a celestron CG3 which I think equates to an EQ2 do you think the mount would be sturdy enough for the scope?
Thanks,
Stephen

I'll be honest and much as I would like rid of this scope I dont think it would be enough .... its a pretty large piece of kit ....

I was thinking you would say that I had a look online after replying to your post earlier and the minimum mount I found sold with a scope like this was an EQ3.
I might still be interested in buying the scope and maybe keeping my eye out for a cheap EQ3 mount. I live in Glengormley I don't suppose you live nearby I could come and have a look at the scope? If so and you would like to send me your contact details my email is below.

I live on Stockmans Lane but unfortunately dont drive so I can't really drag thsi around anywhere. In most nights so if anyone wants to have a look send me a message to arrange a time.
I havent really seen a SW 90 classic but from looking at it on the web it seems to be the baby brother of what I have for sale. So if you have a mount which can handle it I would say it is better ....

There should be no such thing as 'crap' in any persons astronomy cupboard.

Of course ... I should have said the more redundant items of kit which are not used as much as they should be ....
