Hi all, Can I ask a favour ... can someone measure the length of one of the legs of a tripod fully extended? I am having some wooden legs made for my new mount and I have no idea how long a fully extended leg should be ....
I really should have measured it before I let it go ....

I think they are all different, it depends on the particular brand. What mount did it come off, and maybe I can post the question on IFAS to see if anyone has anything similar.

Its the 1.75" EQ5/HEQ5/EQ6 tripod. I read somewhere that fully adjusted its 121 cm tall but that seems kinda short to me ....
And I dont know if thats the leg length or the actual height of the tripod.

Indeed where would we be without it? I am assuming this is the vertical drop from tripod to ground .... so legs would need to be a few inches longer ....

It says in the fifth paragraph that the tripod is adjustable in height between 85 and 147cm, but it says in the specs that the tripod height is 71-123cm!
Maybe Simon could measure his tripod and see which is correct. I agree with you that 123cm seems a bit short.
