I got this today. If anyone thinks that they can go along and help out at any of these events, please let me know.
Hi,
I’m David, I work for BBC Learning with Aoife McKevitt. I’m organising some of the Stargazing LIVE pop up events on the BBC Bus before Christmas.
We were wondering if you would be interested in coming to a few of these events and setting up some telescopes or similar equipment for the public to have a go?
The idea of the pop-up events is to promote and give a taster of our main event on January 9th in the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum.
Currently we have four dates that are pretty much confirmed
Thursday 28th November 16.00 – 20.00 Comber Christmas Lights Switch On
Friday 29th November 18.00 – 20.00 Ards Christmas Lights Switch On
Saturday 30th November 12.00 - 18.00 Holywood Christmas Fair and Lights Switch On
Friday 6th December 18.30 – 21.00 Saintfield Christmas Lights Switch On
Not yet confirmed. (This event may only be flyering without the bus.)
Thursday 23rd November 18.00 – 20.00 Bangor Lights Switch On and Fireworks
So lots of lights being turned on! Hopefully there will be dark enough spaces near the bus for decent visibility on the telescopes.
We are recceing the sites beforehand so we can check this.
The times above are the actual event times so we would need any facilitators on site and set up for this time. We may not be staying on site for the entirety of all the events but we’ll let you know if this happens.
Hopefully you’ll be able to make it down to at least a couple of the pop-ups. My number is 02890 338897 if you have any questions or what to chat through things.
Thanks
