Just putting this out and about. I would like to maybe start getting some contributions for the newsletter so it can be more of a collaborative effort. Stuff like observing reports, equipment reviews etc.. It is probably too late for this month but going forward in the new year I would be happy to take on submissions.

I was thinking about giving something like this a crack. I'll have a wee think and maybe pen something. I can't guarantee what it will be like but I'll try!
As a guide what size would the article need to be?

Colin, how about a review of that new scope, along with the new eyepiece?
Articles should be approximately one to one and a half A4 page long. I usually write mine in font size 14.
Don't worry about spelling mistakes or punctuation errors, the maestro editor will sort all that out, although he may reduce or increase the word count, or re-shuffle it as necessary.
I just put in a first draft and let him get on with it.
I would encourage you all to have a go at writing something for the magazine, it gives it that personal touch. We always try to include observing reports from different people, assuming there has been any recent observing of course.
You can write on anything you like (related to astronomy of course, no essays on how bad Man Utd are this season please, we already know that). Observing reports, reviews of equipment, articles read in magazines or seen on TV, comments on the society itself, or monthly talks, all are welcome.
