Hi Stevie,
Sorry I missed you guys last night. Hope it was good! I heard there was clear skies inbetween the clouds. Thanks again for coming down.
Another reason for my email is to give you a heads-up!! We have Chris Hadfield visiting us for a whistle-stop tour on Sunday. I have some information below if it is of interest to you.
Thanks,
Sinead
An audience with Astronaut Chris Hadfield at Armagh Planetarium
Sunday 12 January 2014
Starting at 10:30am (Doors open at 10:00am)
Safely back on Earth after living aboard the International Space Station, Chris Hadfield will visit Armagh Planetarium to discuss life in space and share extraordinary stories from his first book, An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth.
Chris Hadfield was inspired to become an astronaut when he watched the Apollo moon landing on TV as a child. In 1992 he achieved his dream when he was accepted into the Canadian astronaut program by the Canadian Space Agency. A former Royal Canadian Air Force fighter pilot, Chris Hadfield has flown two space shuttle missions and served as commander of the International Space Station.
During his missions he gained world-wide popularity by chronicling life aboard the space station and taking stunning pictures of the Earth and posting them through social media sites.
"We are delighted and very excited that Commander Hadfield will be touching down at Armagh Planetarium. Chris has raised public awareness of Space and has inspired so many of us with unique insight into life aboard the International Space Station". Tom Mason, Director Armagh Planetarium
To celebrate this unique event we will be screening free presentations of our Digital Theatre show "Astronaut". Shows begin at 11:30am.
This is a strictly ticket only event. Please call us on 028 37523689 to reserve your space. Please note that there are a very limited number of tickets available.
