Hi guys! Just checking in to tell you what's been going on. I've just had the mirrors on the Lightbridge recoated at Galvoptics, and had my first chance to get the scope out since I put it back together. I'm impressed with the job they did, the optics are better than I can ever remember them, and I'm looking forward to a decent night. Lots of moisture in the air tonight, but even despite that I'd good views of Jupiter and the moon, which did it's usual job of washing everything out of the sky. Despite that I managed to locate the supernova in M82, now fading but just visible with averted vision at around x110 with the Nagler 17mm. I'd several neighbours and kids around to have a look, and they were well impressed. We've had a dreadful winter with rain and wind for months, so here's hoping for a few clear ones before there aren't any nights up here.

Great to hear from you old boy, and even greater to hear you are still observing. We still miss you at our observing sessions. Don't be a stranger, stay in touch.
The weather has been pretty bad over here as well, as you will probably notice from the lack of observing reports. Things can only get better.

Here's hoping.... I'm in one of the darkest parts of the UK now, about 16 miles south of Oban. When there are clear skies it is DARK. As in fall over the telescope dark. The skies can be magnificent, and there are normally a goodish number of clear nights...well, until this winter, that is! Hope you're all well!!!
