about a year ago I got a skywatcher skyliner 200p and found it great. Unfortunately the paint started to flake and Wex took it back. They refunded me as there were no replacement s available. I was was about to reorder a 200p for £280 until I found a 150p on Gumtree. I got it for £135 - it's 4 months old and was used once. In perfect condition and the mirrors are aligned exact. Came with Celestron Astronaut Master Accessory pack which was unopened (worth £50 on Amazon). Having used it tonight I appreciate its not as good as the 200p but I want it for viewing moon, Jupiter and a few of the main wonders of the solar system. More so I have two young sons who I want to introduce to astronomy. am I doing the right thing spending a little less on the 150p that will introduce my boys to astromony and show me what I want or should I have spent the extra £150 to get the better scope? ? for £135 this seemed like too good a deal to miss especially given the accessories that were included! any thought would be appreciated

There's absolutely nothing wrong with your telescope. A 6" reflector which will get a bit of use is better than a 12" sittng in your shed which you can't be bothered to take out because it is too much hassle.
It ticks all the boxes for you, it will show you what you want to see, and, most importantly, will allow you to share the sights with your sons.
What's not to like?
Congratulations on your new telescope, and may you, and your sons, get many years use from it.

Totally agree with you Stevie... I gave Stephen(Ktec Telescopes)my 12" dob and he gave me a brand new 200PDS+HEQ5 PRO mount for it(Straight swap, cool.) I was finding to hard to drag out the 12" so I was a bit reluctant to go out as much as I used to, now that I have the 200PDS(8") I love going out whenever I get the chance.. Big is not alway best, what is best is the biggest you would use a lot.
