Agreed Paul, thanks to my early text system a lot of members have seen this one! It's a long time since I saw one right round in the west. It's starting to darken now slightly but wait till about 2am! Beautiful image! BTW, are you getting my texts?
It was pretty impressive down here in Antrim, went up to the forest took some pics, then down to the lough shore (took pics looking out over the 6 mile) and finally up past the Deerpark, about a halfmile from the airport. Got some good shots, including some arty ones with car headlights and tail lights in, though not enough for it to be annoying! The air must be very clear as well as the light pollution from the airport didnt seem that bad

Nice image John and Paul, Kryss it sounds like you got a great session. I think i have obtained my own personal best NLC images to date. Im just in there now and its still visible!
Hey nice shots Paul and John, thanks again for the text John!
The show was nice down in Bangor too, it was very bright in the NW direction and changes to the clouds were easily visible in realtime. Camera setiings were 6secs f4 iso400 this time
great shots guys - I even got some of my own for the first time. You were right - this was a big one - from Ballyskeagh, it stretched from the NNE all the way round to the west. I could only stay up to midnight (work today) but was mighty thrilled to see it!
The next 4 images are taken from the NNE round to the W taken at 11.45pm:
WOW guys, that looks like an awesome display, unfortunately I missed it although I did see my first display last friday night and it really blew me away. Cant wait to see more images.
markdj: Just wondering if a new section could be created to report and discuss light pollution, something that is still close to my heart? Thoughts?
